Have you tried different milk substitutes or even dairy alternatives but nothing fits right? We’ve been there. Let’s us tell you everything you need to know about why we love: *Clears throat* Water buffalo milk.

Benefits of Water Buffalo Milk

Water buffalo milk is A2 milk

Water buffalo milk only contains A2 beta-casein protein, which means it might be healthier than cow’s milk. It certainly has a high nutritional value, providing more protein, vitamins, and minerals than cow’s milk.

Plus, it contains beneficial compounds that may provide antioxidant protection and improved bone and heart health. (We don't say it, science says it. Healthline, PubMed, USDA).

Being more detailed, Water buffalo milk provides high amounts of calcium. It’s also a source of casein-derived that may promote bone health and reduce your risk of osteoporosis.

Has antioxidant properties due to its vitamins, minerals, and bioactive compounds, (one test-tube study determined that the total antioxidant capacity of water buffalo milk ranged between 56–58%, compared with 40–42% for cow’s milk).

Beta-lactoglobulin and potassium in water buffalo milk may help reduce high blood pressure. And if you have a cow’s milk allergy, water buffalo milk may be a suitable allergy-friendly substitute (anyway, check with your doctor first).

Cow's vs. Water Buffalo Milk comparison

Brief history

Water Buffaloes exist over 4000 thousand years ago and there are two main types of water buffaloes: the delicious Buffalo Wings and the glorious Buffalo Bills! (Okay, no). But in some way it’s true, there are two kinds: the river types and swamp types. The river water buffalo accounts for the majority of the milk production, while the swamp buffalo is mainly used as a draught animal.

Water Buffalo River vs Water Buffalo Swamp

The river water buffalo is reared mainly for milk, whereas the swamp buffalo is reared mainly for draught. India and Pakistan produce about 80% of all buffalo milk worldwide, followed by China, Egypt, and Nepal. But not everything is so far, you also find dairy water buffaloes in the Mediterranean, specifically in Italy, where their milk is mainly used to make cheese

Surely you understand why we chose Water buffalo milk as the source of our products, but more than that, why we are pleased to serve its health benefits to you.

Because Water Buffalos are heavy animals (an adult can weigh between 450 and 1000 kg) we practice rotational grazing. This ensures the lightest footprint on the environment and to minimize erosion of our beautiful lands.

Also, they’re free range and grass fed. Which means they spent most of their time outdoors, instead of being confined and their diet is 100% natural-grass based. The end result: we are able to bring you rich, nutritious and delicious Water Buffalo Dairy products that are free from any preservatives, fillers, colorants, gums, or additives.
