Annabella’s Dulce de Leche is made with delicious Water Buffalo milk in the time-honored Latin American tradition.
Pure and creamy, the butterscotch-colored confection is made from three simple ingredients — Water Buffalo milk, sugar and baking soda. It does not contain any additives or preservatives.
It is cooked at a lower temperature than caramel, and it’s golden color comes not from the caramelization of sugar, but from the browning of the lactose. Thanks to this process, it has a more mellow, nuttier, and complex taste than its cousins (Caramel and Butterscotch).
